A popular trekking destination among people from Mumbai and Pune. With 2 forts at the top and each providing superb views of the surroundings, Rajmachi is truly a trekkers paradise.

Best time to visit:
Monsoon and Winter: July – Feb. Summer will be extremely hot to trek. After Rajmachi, this is another option to trek for New Year.
Easy – Medium. This is not a picnic zone or leisure tour.
What to see:
Udhewadi is the base village for Rajmachi where people park their vehicle. A person who comes by a vehicle has already done almost 70-80% of what one does by foot from Kondane village.
In another 15-30 mins, you will see a vast plateau and 2 forts on either sides.
To see the waterfall as seen below; go to Shriwardhan fort.
In monsoon, due to misty conditions, you can hardly see anything 100m ahead. Trekking in monsoon is fun, but when you reach the top; all thats seen is a white blanket.
Apart from monsoon months, from the top one can see a beautiful sunrise/sunset.
The trek does not offer brilliant views of the surroundings until you reach the top.
Rajmachi is excellent for camping. Gather your friends and take your tents.

With your own vehicle; Rajmachi is a very easy trek. You need to reach Udhewadi village. From here, an easy trek of 20-30mins takes you to the top.
To reach Udhewadi, whether you come from Mumbai or Pune; take the exit for Della adventure camp / Kune village from the highway. The road ahead is not in a good shape. In monsoon, the road is full of wet sand and gravel. Bikers need to be careful or best avoid in monsoon.

If you cannot arrange for a vehicle:
Travel by late night train to Karjat. Spend the night on Karjat railway station. Early morning, take the first bus to Khandpe. The bus stand is on the east side of Karjat railway station. You can also take the first train to Karjat, but take would make you trek when the sun is bright. Tell the bus conductor you need to go to Rajmachi. They know where to drop you. Keep walking till Kondane. Ulhas river will always accompany you on this morning walk.
Have some tea and breakfast at the village and start your trek to Rajmachi. A guide is not needed. Its a pretty easy trek and the path is well marked. It should take 2-3 hours to reach Udhewadi.
Lonavala, a well-known hill station close to both Mumbai and Pune.
Kondane caves. If you trek from Kondane village you see these caves and the waterfall in your path.
Use will easily get lunch / dinner at the top.
